Delivery of eCoach 3D Tower, APP and ACC Simulator to The Silesian University, Poland

December 16th, 2024

The Silesian University in Katowice, Poland, recently decided to expand its operations to also include ATC training.

Edda Systems, Norway, was appointed to deliver the ATC controller training solution using the eCoach ATC Simulator with built in capacities for 3D Tower/APP/ACC simulations.

An initial edition of the system was installed in September 2024 for training purposes, with final software installation, integration, SAT early November 2024.

Commissioning and approval by the Polish CAA (ULC), was executed directly after - medio November.

One of the requirements for the system was the ability to run multiple simultaneous training scenarios which also can focus on interoperability between Tower, Approach and Area (ACC) control. The eCoach ATC simulator has the capability to run large scenarios where  multiple towers, approaches and ACC sectors are working together. Or small scale simulations only involving a single student.

The system is based on Edda Systems’ “ATC Simulation Anywhere” technology, a solution enabling the academy to later expand its training and to include facilities spread across multiple physical locations while still working seamlessly, as one unit.

Edda Systems

is a Norwegian ATC simulator vendor – with world-wide distribution – operational since 2005. The eCoach ATC training simulator portfolio can be configured to support virtually any type of air traffic services (ATS) training – from the largest training facilities with TWR, APP and Area control combined, to the smallest. This also includes complete 3D simulator facilities for Remote Tower configurations.
